I have added a second anime shrine to keep my MariMite one company. This shrine is dedicated to Kazemakase Tsukikage Ran at

http://www.mooncanvas.com/tsukikage_ran/

I heard of this series from [info]badlilsheep's first LJ post, and am soooo grateful for it. So I'm spreading the good word ^-^

Just a note to whomever might be wondering, I am still alive ^^; I have been occupied with various things such as making an art website with a small community of old friends; subtitling my fave animes (I'm a sucker for "subtitles should be done right" school); and misc things like finding money, gotta feed.

Was having a break, thought I'd visit [info]talesoflillian and couldn't resist scribbling a SeixYouko pic for a shortfic there.

Continuing with the Dan Millman series, find your Birth Number. Add all the digits in your birth date. Eg. 1982-08-29 becomes 1+9+8+2+0+8+2+9 = 39. Then add the digits of this figure. Eg. 39 becomes 3+9 = 12. The Birth Number for this birth date would be 39/12. The digits on the left have less influence to a person's life path (in the example, 3 & 9), but are usually what the person needs to work through first to get to the deeper digits on the right of the slash (in the example, 1 & 2).

Okay, got your number?

Yes! )

I have taken these from the book, "The Life You Were Born to Live" by Dan Millman. I hope to share some tidbits of inspiration and wisdom from that book over the next few posts, and in turn remind myself too, of where my life journey may take.

What lies before us and what lies behind us
are small matters compared to
what lies within us.
And when we bring what is within
out into the world,
miracles happen.
~ Henry David Thoreau

If we do not know what port we're steering for,
no wind is favorable.
~ Seneca

We meet ourselves time and again
in a thousand disguises on the paths of life.
~ Carl Jung

Each of us is meant to have a character all our own,
to be what no other can exactly be,
and do what no other can exactly do.
~ William Ellery Channing

What we achieve inwardly
will change outer reality.
~ Otto Rank

Talents are common; everyone has them.
But rare is the courage
to follow our talents where they lead.
~ Anonymous

That which we do not confront in ourselves
we will meet as fate.
~ Carl Jung

Before we can forgive one another,
we have to understand one another.
~ Emma Goldman

If I were to begin life again,
I should want it just as it was;
only I would open my eyes a little more.
~ Jules Renard

Just watched ARIA episode 11, and it made me cry. Memories and loved ones are such sweet, sweet things. I'm glad this wasn't the last episode, or I'd really cry my heart out for a week. Well, that is all.

obligatory meme from [info]mizuno_youko & [info]badlilsheep
If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, please post a comment with a COMPLETELY MADE UP AND FICTIONAL memory of you and me. It can be anything you want - good or bad - BUT IT HAS TO BE FAKE.

When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people DON'T ACTUALLY remember about you.

Oh - and an additional rule - it has to be plausible (ish!).

Exam's over! This exam period went pretty smoothly (except I struggled on one paper, I hope I pass). Dewdew and I had *this* playing all week - it's crazy, but I think it really helped us through.

Now it's time to CELEBRATE! Hop over to [info]shoujo_ai_art for the finished artwork of SeiKo ~ Be mine.

I was chatting to [info]umidori here about getting myself to learn to write stories. I see myself as an artist, but struggle to see myself as a writer, and that sux for me who's trying to write manga. However, recently I've found something that worked for me, so I thought I'd make a note of my bumblies here, in case it might spark some ideas for others who might be on the same boat.

It's exam week - woooo...t. Going smoothly so far, but it'll be a bit edgy for the next couple of weeks.

On a more interesting note, I am currently hooked on ARIA *cough*

ARIA

ARIA is a pure beauty to watch. Or rather, experience, because it's all about the experience. This anime can literally slow down time. As such, this anime cannot be enjoyed on-the-run. Apparently, it's a love-it or hate-it thing, but for those in the love-it party, Aria is simply 20min doses of magic. I personally feel that it's one of those rare stories like Carl Sagan's "Contact" that I wish everyone on this earth could watch at least once, and the world would become a happier place.

Yah! Andrew & I laboured over revamping our website again, and it's finally up and running, yay~~

http://www.mooncanvas.com

It now looks like a journal - we've got the blog bug now, it seems. It's still very messy though, still moving stuff over from the old site, but it's functional. Watch your step, if you go there.

*breathes*
I don't know how I managed to survive last week. Did 5 assignments, and only had to do an allnighter once. Mm, I'm getting better at this school stuff. I don't particularly care about grades, I've got more important things to do... like THIS!

Sketch in progress )
"Be mine" ~ SeiKo

*chuckles* That's what [info]pd_pirl calls Sei x Youko. I think it's cute, so I'm adopting it.

This isn't actually the 'goodie' that I meant in my prev entry... but that's coming real soon. This is a sketch I was inspired while halfway doing one of the assignments. And [info]aiyumenosuke tempted me to make a userpic out of it. So with his help, we spent one night making the userpic - that was the reason for the allnighter *laffs*

More Sei to come!

Side note: Have you heard of Corrinne May ( http://www.corrinnemay.com )? She is an independent musician, so she's not as well promoted as others. She composes her own music, and they are angelic - everything, the music, the voice, the lyrics. Some of her songs really bring tears to my eyes.

That's the flavour of the week for me. So excuse me while I go into a bit of seclusion. -_-

On a happier note, I hope to return with a nice little art goodie for you Marimite fans -_^

Yay, Dewdew got an LJ account too, as [info]aiyumenosuke. He's busily customising it, it's looking way better than mine already.

I have met some unbelievably kind and generous people on the net. I was working on subtitles for Appleseed, and someone asked if I had a 1-disc version for the Japanese dvd. I only had a 2-disc rip version, so I tried to piece the two sections together and sent it to him to try. He said it was perfect - then he mailed me a copy of the dvd from Hawaii! He said it was the least he could do for me making the subtitles.

And now I just met another LJ user, and he gave me a paid account after I asked to Friend him! I haven't even done anything... but I will, somehow or other.

The net is full of people like that. The first exposure I had to the internet was anime fansubbers - people who work their butts off to make subtitles and give them away for free, just so others who don't know Japanese can also enjoy what they love. I'm grateful for the goodwill of people I have chanced to meet, and so I try to spread the goodwill however I can. I think that's my favourite 'community' :)

How to be creative by Hugh @ gapingvoid.com

An amusing yet profound look at what it takes to be the creative you... and perhaps be rewarded down the road as well. The article struck a chord within me as I'm struggling with my manga. Will see if anything comes of it.

Had a mini-test today for Microbiology, and I only started studying this morning. I really couldn't keep myself awake last night... too many sleepless nights working on my website. I'm still working on updating my website, because I get distracted way too quickly. Anyway, the test was not too tricky, so I think I passed.

Dewdew did a Yakitate Japan for dinner nibblies - a flat garlic bread, yummy!

A bit surprised but happy :) I didn't think I was weird enough to belong to the White Rose family, but anything Sei-related is good. Yah!

Just finished an anime shrine dedicated to Maria-sama ga Miteru. To commemorate this happy event, I have started this journal. It's about time, as I browse so many LJ Marimite communities. There's so many things to customise here, but right now my eyes are going blurry so I better get some rest.
